The Audible full-cast drama, with Derek Jacobi as Dickens
A full cast, with Derek Jacobi as the narrator and Miriam Margolyes as Christmas Present.
The narrator is a character in this book. Cast someone as Dickens and let the rest of the company play the story around him.
You want to listen, and you want a company of actors rather than one reader, with Dickens himself narrating.
What it keeps and what it changes

How much time does it ask?
