Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997)
You play Dracula’s son, exploring his father’s castle.
Make Alucard the hero and the castle itself the game.
You want to play the Castlevania game people still talk about, as Dracula’s son.
What it keeps and what it changes
Keeps: Dracula and his castle, by way of Konami’s Castlevania series.
Changes: everything Stoker wrote. It descends from the games, not the novel.
Whose story is it?
Alucard’s.
How much time does it ask?
On PlayStation in Castlevania Requiem, with Rondo of Blood; on iPhone and iPad as Castlevania: SotN. Not on Steam.
Konami. Castlevania Requiem bundles it with Rondo of Blood for PS4, released 26 October 2018.
